KAS Training & Certification
Training & Certification

Earn your certifications

Work through each module, then get signed off by your trainer. Learn it → show it → prove it. Growth starts here.

How certification works

  1. Learn it — finish the module here and check it off.
  2. Watch it — your trainer shows you and signs off.
  3. Do it — you do it alone; trainer inspects & signs off.
  4. Prove it — a real clean is inspected to our quality bar → Certified.
Checking a box here marks "I've learned it." Your trainer records the official sign-offs in ClickUp. Two tracks: Scope certs (skills) + Location certs (your accounts).
Foundation — do these first
F1Chemical Knowledge & Safety Required

Know what each product is for, glove up where required, and know where the SDS sheets are. Watch the safety training:

  • Wear gloves with all products — always with Bar Keeper's Friend & Easy-Off oven cleaner.
  • No chemicals on marble/stone. No unapproved chemicals unless the client approves.
  • Mr. Clean = workhorse (counters, floors, tubs, sinks). Scrubbing Bubbles = toilets/showers. Sprayway = glass/mirrors/stainless. Zep = walls/baseboards (spot). BFK = hard water/chrome (gloves). OdoBan = deodorize (not floors).

Verified by: chemical-use check + SDS location confirmed.

F2Client Interaction & Professionalism Required
  • Be kind and discreet — assume cameras and audio are everywhere. We've lost clients over an offhand comment.
  • No comments about the home, no cursing, no gossip.
  • Wear your uniform so you're never mistaken for an intruder.
  • It's hard for some people to let us in — respect that.

Verified by: trainer observation in a real home.

F3Caddy & Supply Management Required
  • Keep your Husky bag/apron organized — you work faster and know when you're low.
  • Put equipment back in the bag; don't leave it around the home (you'll lose it).
  • Don't grab others' equipment without asking and returning.
  • Restock at the office; if short, coordinate with management.

Verified by: trainer checks bag setup + restock routine.

F4Time Management Required
  • Arrive within 15 minutes of start; if you'll be late, notify the office.
  • Work tasks in bulk (all high dusting, then move on). Keep your apron stocked.
  • Have everything from the start — no running to the car.

Verified by: meets the time goal on a real clean.

F5Tool Usage Required
  • Vacuum — bring daily; clean inside/out incl. filters after use.
  • Feather duster — periphery only (woodwork, blinds, fans, sills).
  • Tall duster — ceiling perimeters & high woodwork.
  • Plastic scraper — stuck-on residue; surface must be wet.
  • Scrubbies / scrub brush — agitation, a level up from microfiber.
  • Pumice stone — porcelain/oven glass with lots of water; gloves.
  • Flat-head screwdriver — clear vacuum clogs.

Verified by: trainer checks correct tool choice + care.

F6Work Flow of a Home Required
  • Prep equipment → read the home notes → entry (key/lockbox; announce if it should be empty).
  • Pre-clean inspection: quick for recurring, thorough for deep/move-out (notes to office).
  • Top to bottom, left to right. Check each room before floors, then again during floors.
  • Exit procedure: lights, locks, equipment.

Verified by: trainer observation.

Core skills
C1General & Detail Dusting
  • Top to bottom — fan & vents with the extending duster, down to baseboards.
  • Mr. Clean + cloth on side tables, headboards, dressers.
  • On an initial dust, do blinds before the window.
  • Basic straightening: clean items, under them, return to the same spot.

Verified by: 4 sign-offs.

C2Bathroom Detail

Edges, tracks, rings & pee — that's what clients see.

  • High-dust first. Top to bottom (falling dust on wet surfaces = our top complaint).
  • Mirrors/glass with Sprayway — check from multiple angles.
  • Tubs/showers — feel by hand for soap build-up; Scrubbing Bubbles + brushes; BFK for hard water/chrome.
  • Toilets — the whole thing: base, baseboards, wall. Most common complaint.
  • Floor by hand around the base; hand-wipe edges; no hair left.

Verified by: 4 sign-offs + inspection.

C3Kitchen Detail
  • Top to bottom; confirm the client's preferred counter cleaner.
  • Spot-clean cabinets/backsplash for grease (Mr. Clean or Zep — approved only).
  • Stove by type (flat-top scraper + dwell; stainless with the grain; remove drip pans).
  • Appliances — microwave in/out incl. vent; fridge exterior + interior on deep/move.
  • Sinks by material (BFK for porcelain/bad sinks). No chemicals on marble/stone counters.
  • Take the trash; use client bags when possible.

Verified by: 4 sign-offs + inspection.

C4Floor Care — Vacuuming & Mopping
  • Right setting for the surface — bare-floor setting on hard floors (the brush damages them).
  • Extenders into corners/under furniture. Check the brush for caught debris.
  • Member's Mark on floors; never let water stand on laminate; nothing harsh on marble/stone.
  • Area rugs — lift/shake, vacuum, don't vacuum fringe (comb it).
  • Hand-wipe edges where the mop can't reach.

Verified by: 4 sign-offs + inspection.

C5Bed Making
  • Fitted sheet tight; flat sheet rough-side up, corners tucked.
  • Comforter over; extra blankets folded at the foot; pillows neat at the head.

Verified by: trainer sign-off.

C6Weekly Vacuum Maintenance Affects pay

Full weekly maintenance (Thu–Sat) with timestamped photos in the Discord Vacuum Inspections channel. Clean inspections affect your commission tier.

Verified by: first maintenance photo approved.

Scope of Work & service types
SWScope of Work — the three service levels
  • Deep Clean — brings a home to optimum (hand-wipe fans, sills, baseboards, doors, full cabinet exteriors, vanity).
  • Recurring — maintains it (pole-dust the high stuff, spot-clean).
  • Move-In/Out — resets an empty home.
  • Hand-cleaning is limited to safe reach on a two-step stool — higher gets pole-dusted.
  • When in doubt, check MaidCentral for that job's specific scope.

Service-type certs (Recurring, Deep, Move-In/Out, Oven, Fridge, Office, Medical/Dental, Church, Post-Construction) are signed off by your trainer as assigned.

Location certifications

Get site-certified on your assigned accounts
